Summary of Our Project We heard the wonderful sound of the garbage truck from our childhood, and we could not help but sing the music with it. However, we never have it in mind that when we take the dirty rubbish to dump, there are a group of people silently helping us deal with those smelly rubbish. Why do they do that kind of work? What do they think in their minds? What are their pains unknown to others? These are the things we want to explore and investigate. (2) Research content and method (1) Collection of information |
1-1. Collection of network information: We search for the consequences of environmental pollution and waste, as well as news of unauthorized discharge of sewage and waste by bad practitioners. We plan the framework of the future website and decide on the promotion methods to achieve our desired goals. | |
1-2. Interviews: In order to learn about the work of Luzhou City Cleaning Squad, to know the real thoughts of the cleaning crews and to explore their pains unknown to others, we have visited Luzhou District Office and their work sites for many times. We have also interviewed 7 managers, team leaders and sub-leaders in the Luzhou City Cleaning Squad. | |
1-3. Field survey: We visit the Resource Recycling Center of the Luzhou City Cleaning Squad in person for field trips, visit the Inspection Team's workplace to know about their work, and experience the hard work of digging ditches in the Ditches Team's work site. | |
1-4. Visit the shops: In order to promote the Luzhou Cup, we walked around the breakfast and beverage stores near the school to explain the Luzhou Cup project to them and invited them to participate. Finally, the locations of the participating shops were mapped and promoted to all teachers and students. | |
(2) Education activities | |
2-1. Questionnaire: In order to make the Luzhou Cup to be loved by the public and often be used, we design a questionnaire to interview the school's students and their parents. we ask many questions, such as what the expected Luzhou Cup looked like, what features and features it had, etc. | |
2-2. The “Call for Drawings” activity in the school: The badge and cup design of the Luzhou Cup come from the design contribution by the school teachers and students. We work hard and visit all classes for publicity, and the work most representative of Luzhou is finally selected through voting. | |
2-3. Global Day video: We record the Global Day video in English with foreign teachers, which is compiled with lively and interesting content in the form of drama and dialogue, and it introduces the work contents of the Luzhou City Cleaning Squad's 7 teams in words close to children. | |
2-4. Campus Advocacy: In order to make the Luzhou City Cleaning Squad and the environmental requirements known by all teachers and students in the school, we use the morning time to visit each class for publicity, explain to the teachers in the morning conference and use Sound of Lu Jiang radio. | |
2-5. Barrier passing activity: In order to make students understand the cleaning crew's work and appreciate their hard work, we use the Barrier Passing Activity to make the participating students experience the hard work of the Luzhou City Cleaning Squad. | |
4. Our Computers and Internet Access |

School information equipment is complete, with a class computer in each class. There are a total of three computer classrooms in the school, and the network speed is 100MB in optical transmission. There are some servers with Window2003 and Linux. Team members also have computer network equipment at home for on-line operations through the broadband or fiber optic network. We record the study process with the use of Google's network hard disk and MAIL. |

5. Problems We Had to Overcome |

During the mid-term and final exams, we must get good results and give consideration to the progress of the Cyberafir project at the same time. Therefore, it is our biggest challenge to get the homework and the Cyberafir project's report to achieve their goals with a limited amount of after-hours. Therefore, we must sort out the Cyberafir project data on holidays and go over the lesson on weekdays. None of the 9 students participating in the Cyberafir project fall behind in their school work because of the Cyberafir project. Instead, they learn how to plan and use the time more efficiently. |

(2) Limited ability to interview and research | |
While participating in the Cyberafir project, we must search related data, visit Luzhou City Cleaning Squad and the store owner personally and sort visit document. Such experience is something we have never experienced before. Fortunately, the teachers have taught us the methods of visiting and asking questions from the beginning. During the visit, they keep reminding us of some matters need attention. When we are faced with accumulational interview recordings after the interview, the teachers carefully guide us to organize and simplify these interview documents. I think the biggest gain of this activity is to learn how to interview and how to sort out the data. | |
(3) Numerous and jumbled information, not easy to sort out | |
Since June last year, our 9 students of the Cyberafir project had started a series of Cyberafir project activities. Among these activities, there are 5 off-campus visits, 2 experiential activities and 3 store visits, plus a variety of campus promotional activities. A few months later, there are a lot of text data in each activity and interview, as well as the accumulation of information, and they make us suffer a great deal. Fortunately, the teachers remind us that we must record the study log every time the activity is over. During the course of building the website, we learn to draw the conceptual architecture diagram first so that the information is systematized to be clearly presented on the web page. | |
(4) Being difficult to build a website | |
In the process of making web pages, everyone must have all kinds of ability, including writing skills, operating skills of softs for making web pages and processing images. During the process of making web pages, the teachers never tired of teaching us. They accompanied us in the computer classroom during the whole winter vacation, allowing us to gradually improve our ability and complete the web page smoothly before the competition. | |
6. Our Project Sound Bite | |
During the long 8 months, we participated in many activities and encountered many difficulties and disputes. In the end, however, we have overcome all of them one by one and successfully completed the task. Regardless of the final result, I believe that the fruits of the effort will certainly be particularly sweet. During this period, we uphold the spirit of division of labor and cooperation, give play to each other's best parts and support each other. It lets us realize that as long as we can unite as one, we are able to accomplish impossible tasks. During the activity, we realize Luzhou City Cleaning Squad's work and aspirations, knowing that they are always working diligently in their own posts, quietly working for the cleanliness of our environment. We expect more people will have the same experience with us and work together for Luzhou with their own effort. |
