When there is redundant used furniture in your home, you can call for recycling and the Cleaning Squad will help to deal with those furniture. Environmental Protection Department will assess whether it can still be used, and it will be sent to the Thrift Station if it is usable. The Thrift Station will deliver the recovered materials to the Social Affairs Bureau, Education Bureau, Fire Department, and Indigenous People Affairs Bureau. Finally, these agencies will send the second-hand furniture to disadvantaged families. |

According to statistics, starting from the establishment of the Thrift Station in July 2011 to November 30, 2017, 2,432 families in need of help in the city have been successfully improved and 18,785 pieces of second-hand goods have found their new homes, making 9,228 families of the citizen full of love, and the waste is reduced by 399.8 metric tons. |
Christmas Flea Market Every year around mid-November, New Taipei City Environmental Protection Department will hold the “Christmas Flea Market”. In the weeks before the event, second-hand items, such as toys, clothes, bags, books, small appliances, small furniture and bicycles, can be sent to the collection window of the Cleaning Squad at District 28 in New Taipei City. There will be 40 booths and more than 5,000 second-hand items on the event site. What’s more, some artistes will provide second-hand items for the auction with the 10-20% price of the market price.
