What is “Sound of Lu Jiang”?

“Sound of Lu Jiang” is that the announcer of our Lu Jiang Elementary School Broadcasting Club uses the campus radio at lunchtime on Tuesdays to promote weekly activities or themes of our school.

Normally, teachers of the Student Affairs Division will prepare the script need to be broadcast first, and then give the script to the announcer for practice. Before the broadcast, the announcer must read it first to the teacher. It may be practiced so expertly before the broadcast that it nearly can be recited. However, broadcasting in the “Sound of Lu Jiang” is not easy. It must be read aloud, and be narrated completely. What’s more, you cannot always read wrong, and cannot stutter. Although the practice seems to be very simple, but you may be very nervous in front of the microphone.

Preparation before broadcasting

Before broadcasting, we must prepare the broadcast script first. However, we must prepare it by ourselves because we are students participating the Cyberafir project. we wrote and amended the broadcast script again and again, and finally we thought it was nearly perfect. However, the teacher said that it should be understood even by the first-grade students and it should be interesting. Therefore, we have to continue to amend our script. After we have amended the script, we need to practice until we get to know it well. It means that you can know what is the next sentence when you read. Before broadcasting, we must continue to practice more actively until that day arrives.

Broadcasting process

The “Sound of Lu Jiang” about the 7 teams of the Cleaning Squad was about to begin. I and my companions entered the Student Affairs Division with the script. We got ready quickly because I had experience before. After the countdown, we started to play music and felt very nervous. Broadcasting finally began, and I was afraid of reading the script with errors during the process of reading. As a result, I did not read with errors and read well for the most part. After we completed the broadcasting, I and my companions relaxed totally. After this broadcast, I think everyone can know more about the Cleaning Squad!

Broadcasting achievements

This “Sound of Lu Jiang” broadcasting makes me overcome the difficulty of daring not to speak with the microphone and makes me know all the process of “Sound of Lu Jiang”. Although writing scripts and practices are very tired, my mind has a weird feeling after the actual broadcast, that is, “sense of accomplishment”. After this rare experience, I have learned about the Cleaning Squad, as well as a lot of valuable experience.

Jing-ting: That’s right! This theme is “resource recovery” which is related to environmental protection. We often use the free time on Wednesday afternoon to visit the Cleaning Squad.
Ching-ya: Yes, we need to visit for interviews when people go home to rest. We need to interview the cleaning crew, including the cleaning team, inspection team, ditch team, mobile team, truck team and kitchen waste team.
Jing-ting: Well, you forget a team.
Ching-ya: Really? What team is it?
Jing-ting: It is the resource team
Ching-ya: Oh, I just remember it! It is not resource team! It is the resource recovery team. Therefore, you really should not make such a mistake. If there is no resource recovery team, many resources have to be wasted!
Jing-ting: Oh, I remember the wrong thing.
Ching-ya: Speaking of the resource recovery team, in fact, while they are doing resource recovery, the truck will shake all the way, making heads being very dizzy. In order to avoid falling out, they also need to be tied with a safety rope. They must collect bags of recyclables quickly, and open them quickly for classification. They once received a black bag of recyclables. It was totally out of their expectation that many black insects began to run out quickly when the bag was opened.
Jing-ting: What are these black insects? Do they have two tentacles and six feet?
Ching-ya: No! Do not talk about it when people are eating?
Jing-ting: Ah, I am sorry.
Ching-ya: I want to tell you that the work of the kitchen waste team is actually very hard.
Jing-ting: Why?
Ching-ya: Once there was a team member bent down to pick up the rubbish bag dropped in the kitchen waste barrel by people. As a result, other people seemed to not see him and poured the kitchen waste over his head.
Jing-ting: God! This is a terrible thing.
Ching-ya: Yes, the members of the kitchen waste team have to endure the taste of spoiled food every day. Even in the lunchtime, they have to accompany those kitchen waste barrels, and it is really hard.
Jing-ting: Wow! In comparison, it is really happy that we are able to sit in the classroom and have a good meal!
Ching-ya: Then it comes to the Cleaning team! The cleaning team need to clean the rubbish quickly every day before we go to work and go to school. Apart from those common cigarette butts and betel nut residue, they also found that the bushes on the central island in the middle of the road are places where people often throw rubbish.
Jing-ting: In addition, there is also the truck team. The work of the truck team is to drive the garbage truck. When it comes to the Chinese New Year, every family carries out the year-end household cleaning. It leads to the great increase of rubbish, and sometimes it will slow down the truck, then there may be appeals or complaints.
Ching-ya: And then, it is the inspection team. Their job is to fine the passers-by with littering. Sometimes, they may encounter people who are tall and strong with bad attitude. Just imagining, it is actually a bit scary.
Jing-ting: Yes, it is really dangerous. Then it is the ditch team. When we go to experience the ditch team, we originally only knew that the ditch cover was heavy, but we did not expect that even the tools for digging ditches were also very heavy!
Ching-ya: Yes, they are very heavy. What’s more, the ditch will become very smelly in the summer. Some stores are used to washing food, dishes and cooking tools beside the ditch, and it will make the ditch full of thick oil contamination. If the ditch team does not clean the ditches, they are easy to be flooded in heavy rain.
