There are so many artifacts and items in Jie-ru Li Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum.There are so many artifacts and items here at Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum that we can hardly see them all. Every piece was a rare piece of treasure that I had never seen before. There is an artifact in the museum, named "Chang E's flight to the moon", that remain a mystery to me. Master Wang said that this ivory carving has a total of 52 layers, and that each layer was movable. Try as I might I still couldn't figure out how they made the carving. It must be some ingenuity from the carvers. |

. ........└Quanzhou Style Sculpture | The main reason for going to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum this time is to make up for the photographs and artifact information that we had yet to collect. But there were many artifacts and items that had no information. Each piece of information to be collected had to be handwritten, and there were only four students and a teacher who went on this trip to record over 30 artifacts. Just think about the volume of information we had to collect. However, this trip also allowed me to understand about artifacts within the museum and would come in handy in the later tour-guiding work. I wouldn't have to spend too much time memorizing tour guiding information. |

Before joining the advanced class of the school, I didn't even know what the Cyberfair Project is. For the project, we consulted with Master Wang on October 12th to see if we could make an appointment with him for information collection. It came as a surprise that Master Wang said a great deal of stories that we didn't know about on the very first day of our visit, and talked all the way till after 4 PM. But I personally felt that Master Wang is a very kind person. |

We are going to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum again, checking out the artifacts this time. There is a mountain of treasure within it. There's a special "Lazurite and silver decorated blade-in-blade" that attracted my attention. It is a blade used by the Brocade-clad Guards. In combat, the guard would draw a duller knife. If he was disarmed, he could draw a more dangerous weapon from within the scabbard to stab his opponent. It is such a clever fighting trick. |

Project Narrative | Wow! I can't believe that there's a jade cabbage like we see at the Palace Museum, and one that is made from a rare jade produced at Hetien in Xinjiang. It even has delicate jade lines. According to Master Wang, this artifact was better than the one at the Palace Museum. Its name is "Yangzi White Jade Cabbage", and is an extremely treasured item. |

HOME | When we went to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum to look at the artifacts, we saw a "Nanyang Jade Chariot" that is completely made of jade for the purpose of celebrating birthdays, and was also used in the palace. I really want to sit in it! |
|||
..Jun-lin Wang .We can't finish looking at all the artifacts.
There are so many strange wonders in the museum. The most useful is Kong Ming's Drum for its ability to make armies ten thousand men strong to assume the size of a hundred thousand. It can also be sat on as a chair or used to cook soup, rice or fry vegetables. It is so special!
..Jun-lin Wang .Wonders at Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum
When standing before the gates of Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum, I saw students from other schools coming to visit as well. Master Wang also presented a late Qing dynasty and early republican era warning siren that he rarely showed other people. One would only need to turn it so warn people to hide in air raid shelters. Without a doubt, Master Wang is truly a collector of every kind of artifact! |
||||
..Jun-lin Wang .I never missed any visits!
When we arrived at Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum, we set out immediately to see the so-called "treasures". My eyes brightened at the sight of the vast collection. There are two horses whose bodies were studded full with gems. Master Wang said that these horses were very special and were covered with gems. I think they must be very expensive. |

I'm so happy that we get to visit the museum and look at its collection. In see many special artifacts and items within the museum. Of which, many were items used by the Emperors and were also extremely rare and hard to come by. The sights are worth the visit!
..Chen-long He .My feet got numb from standing
Ah! We are going to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum today! I really look forward to the trip. We finally got to the museum and hoped to get inside quickly to look at the collection. But we didn’t get into the museum to look at the artifacts, and were forced to stand outside for a really long time. My feet got really numb. It’s so tiring!
..Yu-hui Bai .Personal review on the visit to the Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum
It was great that we can go to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum today! I am fortunate to have the chance to go there. At first I thought that it may not hold anything of note, but it turned out to be an astonishing treasure cove of ancient artifacts. There are two stone lions at the entrance. Master Wang explained to us: "Did you see those two stone lions at the door way? They are different compared to the other stone lions. Because the Emperor would stand by the doorway while the stone lions would steal a few looks at the Emperor. Thus, their eyes were carved in such a way that they look towards the left and right at each other." There are four parrots in the courtyard of the museum which keeps crowing. It's really interesting. Master Wang also asked his assistant to bring out a warning siren from the Second World War for us to see. I thought: "Wow! That's really cool!" Next, Master Wang demonstrated the siren's use which gave off wails. Later, Master Wang let us look at the museum's collection. I saw A Hundred Fortunes Through the Carved Ruyi, Ruyi of Eight Fortunes and the Yellow Jacket of the Manchu Emperor, the Nanyang Jade Chariot of His Highest Majesty made in the reign of Emperor Xianfeng, the Nine Dragon Robes of Qing Emperors, the Golden Throne of Ming Emperors, a lute from Wanli era during the Ming dynasty, paintings of Ming and Qing magistrates, a bowl of white jade used by the imperial household in Emperor Qianlong's reign, Ruyi of Longevity and Success, Shrine for a Century of Good Auspices and other artifacts. They were truly wondrous to behold. After browsing the museum collection, I heard a cacophony when I stepped out of the door. It turned out to be a parrot playing at the drums. Master Wang burst out laughing, and I laughed along with him. The parrot threw away the pen, and we children busied ourselves to pick up the pen again to place it against the parrot's feet. The parrot would play the drums and throw the pen, which really made us quite exasperated and I laughed at it. I had great fun today. I not only gained a lot of knowledge, I also enjoyed myself. And that was like killing two birds with a stone.
..Yu-hui Bai Personal review on the visit to the Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum
Today we went to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum again. As it was raining, the parrots at the doorway were gone. Perhaps they were hiding from the rain indoors. We entered the courtyard in the museum. The wet floor almost caused me to fall when we entered the courtyard. I grabbed Chun-yan Chang's clothes at the last moment. Later, we quickly ran into the entrance of the museum to prevent getting wet. Today's was our official recording. Teacher Tseng had already reminded us before our trip to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum and said: "Today we will start formal video-taping of the scene. So please behave in an orderly manner and don't block Master Wang. Be attentive to what he said. Keep these words in mind!" We all agree in unison, and we were all very attentive when we saw Master Wang. When we entered the museum, Master Wang began focusing on his tour guiding. I also listened to his words attentively. Master Wang introduced "Nanyang Jade Chariot of His Highest Majesty". He said: "The carvings on this chariot number 256 jade dragons, 39 jade phoenixes and 64 bats. The chariot has a height of 312 cm, a length of 308 cm and a breadth of 139 cm, with 74 strands of Dongling jade beads and the characters of "prosperity" and "longevity". The entire chariot weighed over 1000 jin." I was astonished by these figures. We also saw letter cylinders, treasured swords from the Three Kingdom era, fossils and other artifacts. I had a lot of fun today because I not only learned about the history, weight and materials of many historical artifacts. I also gained more understanding of the history and collection of Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum.
..Chen-chang Lin .Personal review on the visit to the Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum
On the 4th of November in 2011, Teachers Bo-wei Tseng and Hsuan Wang brought us kids to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum to interview Master Wang and to look at the artifacts he has collected. On the day of our visit, we first heard him describing the artifacts he had placed outside. And there were already a great deal of artifacts outside the museum, such as the image of His Holy Highness Lord Guan etc. We divided ourselves into two groups to carry out our duties. I was dispatched to assist Teacher Bo-wei Tseng to interview Master Wang, using Teacher Tseng's "great cannon" to record the interview process. When the interview was over, Master Wang told us about principles of life. I feel that he's not only Master Wang in the Condor Heroes, he's also an elder with a great deal of experience up his sleeves. When we finished our work, we said goodbye to Master Wang and prepared to leave for home, ending this wonderful day.
..Chen-chang Lin .Personal review on revisiting the Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum
Today Teachers Tseng and Wang brought us kids to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum again to interview Master Wang. This time I was switched over to the group working on the museum collections. We saw "Flying Eagle Talon of the Ming dynasty", "three edged spikes", "lazurite and silver plated blade-in-blade", "mail shirt", "jade seal", "treasured sword of Yue Fei" "seven star golden dragon sword", "blade of Qi Jiguang", "the hat of Princess Jicheng's fiancee" and other artifacts. This time I brought a digital camera to take pictures of the artifacts within the museum. I managed to see the artifacts I was most interested in: "lying eagle talon of the Ming dynasty", "three edged spike" and "seven star golden dragon sword". I was so excited! But we had dallied for a really long time at the place. We worked well past noon before returning to school for lunch. My stomach kept growling, and that was rather sad since I had to attend courses for the advanced class after noon break. I was also quite scared as well, since I've been looking at the items of dead people, strictly speaking. I was worried that something bad may happen. |

Friday is the day in which we 6th graders have our hands-on courses. There's this time when the teacher in charge of the Cyberfair project asked which of us want to join Cyberfair. The boisterous class turned quiet all of a sudden. I got home and asked my mother about this, and she said: "Sure! Try it out!" Thus, I became a formal member of the Cyberfair project. When I joined, the teacher said that we must come to class every Tuesday and Wednesday. We all participated punctually. In one of the lessons, the teacher showed us a film "Plus and Minus Two Degrees" which tells us about the crisis faced by our world right now. From this film, we understood how to improve ourselves so that the world could regain its former health. But we all had to work together to protect the Earth. After this lesson, I truly wished for the Earth to recover and be happy again. There's another occasion in which the teacher brought us to visit Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum. It happened to be raining that day and everyone was wearing raincoats. When we entered the museum, the Master came and explained to us the hat of the charioteer for the Emperor as well as turtle fossils. The jade cabbage impressed me the most, and it seemed so lifelike that one might actually squeeze water out of it. I like it a lot!
..Yun-yu Chang .Looking at artifacts
I felt that visiting Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum was a lot of fun as we can learn things from Master Wang and see many artifacts. I thought that the stone lions at the doorway were the most special because of their eyes. If you stand at the correct place, you would know that they were stealing looks at you, and feel like the Emperor himself! When we entered the museum, we saw four parrots making noise without pause. While I was looking at them, Master Wang suddenly took out his megaphone and began introducing the collection at his side. I kept thinking that Master Wang started to introduce the items that loudly because I wasn't paying attention. After that we went before a gate. Master Wang said that so long as we cross this gateway, our academic performance would improve as the door has a pair of "fish dragons" which looked rather like fish and dragons. |

<11/11> This time the teachers brought us to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum for a visit again. It started raining outside when we arrived, so the teacher brought us to browse the artifacts at the exhibition hall. |

..Chun-ya Chang .Work review
We had to make a table of "Museum Collection Categories" for Monday and Tuesday this week. They will create introductions for selected museum artifacts. I started typing my work review on Wednesday. During that time, Yi-hsuan Ting, Wan-ni Chen and Yu-hui Bai didn't arrive. We just finished our prefect duties and arrived at the advanced course classroom. Teacher Ya-mei Hsu told me to start on my work of "Museum Collection Categories". After I'm done, I started on my work review. The bell rang while I was typing. I saved my work review and ran back to class. |
||||
..Chun-ya Chang .Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum is a wondrous place
We once again visited Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum today. Because it was raining, the four parrots were locked up. We had to walk through a road to enter Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum. The ground was wet, and we were a group of "wild brats" who disobeyed instructions and rushed in. Yu-hui Bai almost fell, thank goodness he grabbed my clothes or he would have fallen on his head. Master Wang began describing the items when we entered the museum, and we began to take notes seriously. This is the beginning of our tour in the Museum. |
||||
..Chun-ya Chang .Seeing Master Wang for the first time
Today we arrived at Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum and saw Master Wang. I was both excited and nervous. We saw two stone lions when we arrived at the doorway. Master Wang explained to us and asked: "Look! Do you see any difference between this pair of stone lions with those of other temples?" I guess that their eyes looked different. Master Wang explained: "Their eyes look diagonally ahead. It just happens that the main door can only be used by the Emperor, and so gives the image that they're peeking at him." |
||||
..Wan-ni Chen .How nervous and terriyfing
<11/14> When I went past Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum before I always felt that it was a museum of mystery which compelled me to investigate it. With this investigation, I gained more understanding of Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum. There's a traditional style gazebo inside, and an image of Lord Guan. At first, the Master introduced to us the story of the "dragon fish", as well as an air-raid warning siren from the Second World War, a statue of the Maitreya Buddha and other artifacts. I was most interested in the Chinese "yellow cab". The master described the structural features of the yellow cab thoroughly. I was very surprised as the yellow cab rickshaw made during the Qing dynasty even had shock absorbers. Later, I get to share the jade bowl of Emperor Qianlong. The bowl was so clear and translucent that it seemed to give off its own glow. The Master also showed us blades of civil and military officers of different ranks. I felt that the coolest blade was the blade-in-blade wielded by the Brocade-clad guards. The blade-in-blade has a groove to drain blood. Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum has in it artifact of every description. I hope to visit Master Wang again to understand more about the artifacts and their story.
..Wan-ni Chen .Second visit to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum
<11/11>Last Friday we went to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum. Before going, our teacher reminded us to take notes and check our behavior. When we arrived at the museum, we wrote our notes carefully and also saw many artifacts. |
||||
..Chen-chia Liao .The mysterious Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum
I saw many things in Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum, such as the blade-in-blade, the saddle used by Zheng Chenggong, the statue of Lord Guan and the Earth God, human-powered rickshaw from the past and others. I was responsible for video recording. When taking recordings of people, the teacher told me that it was best to take just half of the body. If I were to get closer, I should cut the picture off at the shoulder. Hence, I felt that photography is truly a skill and requires good arm strength. Otherwise, one's arm will keep shaking and the resulting video would make people dizzy. We also must work together because if we did not, the resulting film would be in tatters. Without discussion, one cannot conduct good research for the project. Everyone must cooperate to complete our project. This undertaking should not be carried out by a single person. Every member must have the chance to experience it to make it worthwhile. This time, I not only learned how to use a video-recorder, I also learned how to conduct interviews, carry out discussions on how to ask questions, and most importantly the critical nature of team work. The video recordings I had made this time were not good enough. I would use recording methods that my teacher had taught me next time and let others try it as well so that we can together work towards our next target and provide each material at the highest quality. I hope that the next video recording and interview can be done more smoothly and that everyone will have the chance to experience it.
..Chia-hsin Lai .I'm happy to be able to visit
I'm very happy that I'm able to visit Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum which contained many artifacts and historical stories. Although it was raining that day, we arrived at our destination with hearts of joy and reaped great harvests. When we returned, we were still hoped to get more of those artifacts.
..Chia-hsin Lai .Sincere gratitude to Mr. Wang, the son of Master Wang, for bringing us to visit the Museum
Hi everyone! |
||||
..Bin-lin Chen .We saw many artifacts
On the 4th of November, 2011, Friday, Teacher Tseng and Mr. Wang brought us curious kids to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum to interview Master Wang, and to look at his collection at the same time. When we arrived at Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum, us kids, being curious, snooped around. Master Wang came out to welcome us. We also returned his greeting excitedly. Later, Master Wang introduced many things to us, such as the lions at the gateway. I gradually discovered that the lions' eyes were staring diagonally at the supposed Emperor. There is a very large slab of rock inside with a huge axe embedded on top of it. Master Wang said that this was from the story of Chenxiang rescuing his mother. In order to free his mother, Chenxiang split opened the rock. We left after listening to this tale. I hope we can go to Lujhou City The Forbidden City Museum again next time. |
