The causes---

Education by paintings and play performance bring the ideas deep into children’s minds

Education by paintings plays an important role in A-fu’s Book Club. It features:

1. interactive with children. The children’s opinions are asked during the story-telling.

2. Figure of speech: The ideas expressed by the paintings are imbedded in the plots, so that children could learn them.

3. Simple language: simple language could be readily recognized by children.

4. Interesting plots and characters: Interesting plots and characters could attract the children and inspire their imagination.
So our team selected the Stone Soup to play in the school and the community, promoting A-fu’s spirits of sharing and helping each other.

Preparation---

1. Turn the paintings into the play : After discussion, we turned the painting story into a play.

2. Preparing the props: we divide our tasks in the preparation of the props, such as costumes and other materials in the play.

3. Rehearsal: we rehearsed the play for half month to make it better, and we learnt the lesson of ten years’ practice for one minute on the stage.

Promotion in school---

On January 23, we staged our play in the school. After a-week rehearsal, the actors and actresses were very familiar with their roles. Students from the Grade One and Grade Two were totally attracted by our show, and the hall was filled with laughter and applauses. To our great surprise and joy, a camera crew from the local TV station also interviewed us. It was our first time to be broadcasted by TV.

Promotion in the community---

We thought our audience should not be limited to students. So we came to the local community to stage our play on January 27. We passed out posts in the community and the audience was big. Before the play, Teacher Yan played a game about sharing with the children from the community, and then our play was staged. The actors and actresses were a little big nervous when we found many people have brought their DVs. Finally, we played the song of Sharing, and sang with the audience together.
