2-5 Standards
Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) refers to the standard values set by International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) to restrict “time varying electric field, magnetic field and exposure guide of electromagnetic field”. The standards for household appliance, electric tower, transformer station and other magnetic fields with 60 Hz are shown as below:

In terms of regulation in mobile phone and base station, EPA sets the “nationally normative value standard in electromagnetic wave of mobile base station.

The value standard in frequency band of GSM 900 MHz is suggested to be lower than 0.45 mW / cm2. |
The value standard in frequency band of GSM 900 MHz is suggested to be lower than 0.6 mW /cm2. |
The value standard in frequency band of GSM 1800 MHz is suggested to be lower than 0.9 mW /cm2. |
The value standard in frequency band of GSM 1800 MHz is suggested to be lower than 1.2 mW /cm2. |
The value standard in frequency band of 3G CDMA 800 MHz is suggested to be lower than 0.4 mW /cm2. |
The value standard in frequency band of 3G CDMA 800 MHz is suggested to be lower than 0.53 mW /cm2. |
The value standard in frequency band of 3G CDMA 2000 MHz is suggested to be lower than 1.0 mW /cm2. |
The value standard in frequency band of 3G CDMA 2000 MHz is suggested to be lower than 1.2 mW /cm2. |
Therefore, the standards for electromagnetic wave in Taiwan all refer to international safety code.
